Rachel lives in a cursed town. The firstborn child always dies before they reach 12. As soon as the firstborn child is old enough to walk and talk, he or she is cast out onto the streets. They die alone, unless they somehow find a friend to stay with while they live. Rachel heard a rumor that if a firstborn child lives to be 12 and is able to climb the statue in the center of the village, the curse will be lifted.
