Title from a song by William Fitzsimmons - By My Side.
Marian was so used to being alone. When people stopped asking, she stopped caring. So now, her present life has no communication, no connection, and melancholy.
It's not the happiest, but it's what she's used to. And to disrupt that orderly (but melancholic) way of life was to commence change.
Marian didn't like change.
But then Anne decided to show up in her life, her town, and her school. And in the bland graph of her life, Anne becomes an anomaly.
And an anomaly that is strangely similar to her. Melancholic and deep down, in pain. She's just hiding it behind a smile and a high-pitched voice.
As Marian & Anne get to know each other, secrets are revealed and burdens are lifted. As life gets better for them, a dark ending cares enough to sabotage it.
Or the story where Anne shows up just to leave Marian.
A/N:
HEY! It's Nico, from OtakuAndGamer! The duo of Dianne & Nico is presenting you with this lots-of-angst/hurt/kinda-fluff multi-chapter story!
Would you be so kind to try and read this? On some chapters, I will provide pictures and music to listen to that is appropriate for it.
If you notice a difference in Writing Style between chapters, that's because we are different people and write a little differently.
Thanks, and love,
Dianne & Nico

*****
It's been a year since the love of Elliot's life, Allan, passed away. Everyone thinks he should have recovered after that much time, but Allan still haunts Elliot every night. He struggles to maintain relationships with his family, and despite a coworkers interest he can't summon up the courage to date. Elliot is living for the past, because to live for the present means he'll have to live with a hole in his heart. But the question Elliot has to face chases him through his monotonous days: is mourning Allan with everything he has truly living?
