Since the year 2000, Humankind has evolved to travel into space. Since this rush to explore the galaxy, Humans have adapted in many ways.

Back on Earth, all the new technology is corrupting the planet. It has become a  desolate dystopian wasteland, the air poisonous to all life. Across the planet, there are several beautiful cities, protected by domes. Here, Humans and technology can live in harmony and even thrive! These are known as an Oasis.

A unique Gemstone, located in the Earth's core, was taken from the Earth and given to Alekos, a leader of an Oasis. This stone controlled the gravity on the planet, and without it, the whole sphere will collapse into itself. Little did he know, an alien life form also need this stone more than anything...

This is the story I'm writing for NaNoWriMo 2015. The goal: 50,000 word RAW draft written entirely in the month of November. Unlike most of my stories, which I prefer to edit before posting, I'm actually going to post updates to this at the end of each day in chapter-sized chunks. The idea behind this story is that a terrorist attack in the near future causes the US to go hyper-isolationist, to the point that it abandons Hawaii and Alaska to fend for themselves. They do, forming the United Pacific States (maybe with a few other island countries). Hawaii then goes on to turn itself into the new world police with stealthy, genetically modified cyber-soldiers. I'm marking this story as mature because there will be action scenes, and probably some interesting perspectives on nudity and relationships. I'm not planning on anything explicit, but this won't be a kids book. Validated winner at 50,040 words!

All knowledge of the old devices is lost, save what can be scrounged by avid historians and mages, remnants of a foregone class who can freely use the system. Luos, nephew of the blacksmith of the village of Hill Hill, has become apprentice to the wizard Samsian and his talking cat familiar Peezlebub. He learns that while most people have some minor magical ability, the deeper magic requires the facilitation of a familiar, a daemon bound to a mortal body, able to navigate the spiritual world. But when Luos attempts the rite himself by summoning the daemon Asmod, proving to his teacher his capability in the occult, the daemon he binds besets the boy with a horrible truth. Daemons are not merely bound spirits. They are copies of the mage's own soul. Together Luos and Asmod must overcome the changes in their lives and master the magical arts, because Hill Hill comes under threat of a dark and evil force. Soon to be cross-posted to Royal Road! Galactus' eyes squinted as John said his real name out loud. He never expected someone totally out of nowhere knew his actual name. "Never expected an unknown guy would know my origins. So what of it? I don't think it matters where I came from." Galactus replied. "It doesn't. You did what you had to do to survive. But the problem is you made a deal with the devil." John replied. Galactus looked at John with more stoic eyes now. He had done many things in the past and he made many bad decisions. He just wasn't sure what John was referring to so he was silent. John seeing that Galactus was silent and refused to speak said "Black Winter is coming!!" ------------- When a cinephile and an otaku/weeb travels through dimensions and gets a system which can only be described as overpowered but comes with restrictions. At first he was overjoyed with the system but soon realizes that he is in a very dangerous world where his life was at risk all the time. Disclaimer : I am not an economist so I might have done some mistakes in the economics section of the story. If you have suggestions to make it better you can leave in the comments. Warning - The MC won't be OP from the start itself and will grow to a powerful character in due time. The starting feels a bit weird because I am totally new to writing a novel and English is my second language. I don't have an editor so the conversations and descriptions might be little stiff.
