Cataclysm
I've watched the games for as long as I can remember, but I never thought I'd be in there, fighting for my life, one day. Unnaturals are the curse of the world. They were once people, but in only seconds, they were changed and given unnatural powers. In order to keep them contained, North America creates an arena, a sort of gladiator battle, imprisoning the Unnaturals there and forcing them to fight to the death. And for the humans out there - make one mistake, and you'll be in there with them. Joel has made that mistake. He was caught unintentionally helping an Unnatural escape. Now he finds himself thrown into a world that's completely different from what he was told, and learns two very important things. These Unnaturals are just as human as he is. And there is no escaping the games alive. ... Intense trigger warnings for torture, heavy violence, depression, self harm, and suicide. In the midst of this chaotic world, she joins him in pursuit of a common goal... *The Undead here is specifically a Zombie, but not the western zombie, but the Chinese Hopping Zombie which drinks blood instead of eating brains likes western zombies. So we didn't use zombie because it would give the wrong image... or use Vampire which technically covers all blood-drinking creatures because it isn't that either.Complete
To Be A Hero
Book 4 in the To Be A Runner series. If you have not read books 1, 2 or 3, I seriously suggest you do before continuing in order to avoid confusion. It's been almost nine months since the world was saved from eternal happiness, but the world is still in danger. The dead still walk and we are still far from finding a cure. But we are still discovering new things. Veronica's hard at work, and with Abel teaming up with the Ministry nothing should be able to stop us. At least, that's what I thought. But there are things we still don't understand, things I'm not sure I want to understand, like the voices in my head, like the zombies that can almost talk and are what Veronica likes to call 'Sentient Type Zombies'. I can't back down-not from the A.M.T.B., not from the voices in my head, and not from the overwhelming feelings that clog my throat and make it almost impossible to breathe whenever I see- No, feelings are not important now, not when a cure is available, not when he's busy worrying about his baby that's due to arrive and the fact that Paula's getting sicker and...
