This poem is very personal to me. I wrote it because try as I might I could never verbally express what it was like for me to go through a panic attack the words just wouldn't, couldn't come out. Out of desperation and the burning desire to be understood I tried writing about it and finally found my release. In writing this poem I found my freedom. One I was able to express to the world what I was feeling inside the panic attacks no longer had any power over me. I was finally able to gain control of them and they no longer controlled my life.
