This book is a short story, so it doesn't have a lot of chapters. However, I hope you enjoy it. The purpose is to spread awareness about a topic I hold close to my heart. It is to also to encourage those who are dyslexic. . . . . . Miya Marshall is a 12 year old 7th grader. She goes though her first year in Clare Hall High with mostly D's and F's. She hates reading, and barely writes notes in her classes. When Miya is kicked off the basketball team and is on the verge of repeating 7th grade, her parents intervenes and find out that Miya's poor academic performance is not entirely her fault. This story is about how a young girl survived her abusive father through learning. When she was a little girl her family was very poor, and the death of her mother did not help at all. That is what has triggered her fathers to be abusive. There were times when Amy thought about just ending it all just like that. But the gentle voice of her mother and her last words would always ring in her ear. "Stay Strong". So she did and she also thought that things in her life would never change.
