'"Daddy what's wrong, why can't we leave?" The young girl asks. The Father looks over at the mother who is at the corner of the hospital room trying to stay brave for her daughter. Sadness and regret is clear in her green eyes, Regret for not being there to save the love of her life and sadness as she knows that she is going to loose her dear husband any moment now.

"Mommy what's wrong with daddy?" The child asked again, fear written all of her face. The beautiful young mother swiftly stepped towards her daughter and knelt down on the cold white tiles. She bit her lip to try and hold back the tears.

"Ali, Daddy is going to go away." The mother told her daughter. The pain and sadness that sunk into the girl named Ali's eyes made her mothers heart sink.

"Can't we come Daddy?" Ali pleaded. Her father laughed and then cringed at the pain it caused.

"When your old and wrinkly."  He pulled his hand from under the blankets to reveal a gold locket. "I was going to give this to you when you were older but here you go," Ali took the locket, it was heart shaped. "This will be to replace me, to put a picture of the special person that will love you and  guard you. He will be the man in your life, not me." he finished and looked over at his wife. "I love you both."

Ali's mom picked her up and took her out of the hospital room, "He's coming back isn't  he mommy?" Ali asked he mom as tears rained down her face.

"Ali, honey daddy won't be coming back." with this news Alison couldn't stop herself. For a four year old, this is big news, she looked down at the locket and vowed to herself that she would protect it forever.'

Will Alison ever fill the locket with the person she will always love?
