Mackenzie Hope was the last person you'd ever expect to join marching band. She's always been the quiet one and never tried to make any friends. She never played percussion or drums and for some reason, she decided to give it a shot. She only discovers her struggles with it, unable to read the music and understand what she's looking at. So when a drummer boy, Nathan Ballen makes a stride in making a friend out of Kenzie she's left with telling him her struggles. Only problem is, the struggles she has during band are nothing compared to the struggles she has at home. Kenzie has never trusted anyone in her life. Until now.
