I smile up at him. "Man, you haven't changed at all have you, Marco?"

Marco peers closer at me. "A-Aspen?"

I step forward, and poke him in the chest with my finger.

"Well, I'm sorry I didn't give you a proper welcome home! But who's to say I can't give you one now?"

He frowns. "Aspen, I-"

The rest of his sentence is cut off by the sound of my fist making contact with the right side of his face.

"Welcome home, you jerk."

---

Meet fifteen year old Aspen Olivia Carver, a bold type of girl. Well, at least around her family and best friends.

When Marco Avery, the boy who did her wrong so many years ago, comes back her Sophomore year of High School: Aspen doesn't know what to do.

But then, after a secret meeting in the woman cave (her bedroom) with her faithful allies (her two best friends) she figures, why not give him the homecoming he deserves after what he did to her?

And Marco Avery never backs down from a challenge, no matter what kind.

So I guess this means,

Game on.

"Wanted to be bold." I blush while I avoid eye contact. "Devin needed to borrow clothes for gym." I stare at my bare legs. "I should've told her no." He shrugs, biting into his sub. "Not a fan of exposing the body." I nibble on my burrito. "I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I tuck my hair behind my ear. "That you're easy." My face reddens as I look at him in the corner of my eyes. After a few moments, I nod. He sighs. "The only thing that makes a girl easy is if she lets every and any guy inside." He runs his fingers through his hair. "Clothes or attitude has nothing to do with it." I trace a circle on my thigh. "And a guy that believes otherwise is either a dick or a rapist." I smile. "Avery." "Ava." "Your brain works in wonderful ways." I get more comfortable and lean on his shoulder. "So you've said." I giggle. "I'm glad to share the same name as you." ~ A girl, a perfectionist, named Avery Jones has been in love with her childhood friend's brother for as long as she can remember. He's never noticed her, though, he doesn't really notice anyone. He's sort of an insouciant philanderer. They couldn't be any different, the only thing that connects them is their names. Oh, by the way, his name is also Avery Jones; no relation. As crazy as it might sound, it's true. Anyway, it isn't until she becomes his mentor that he finally sees her. But will this new circumstance spark a connection or show just how different they are?

"Ava, you have to be quiet! They'll hear you-" Tears started to spill from my eyes, blending in with the rain that dripped down my face. I shouldn't have come here. The last time I followed someone I made accidentally noise and got them killed. I had to get away from Jaxon. I turned on my heel, ready to run to, but Jaxon grabbed my wrist. "Let go" I choked, "I have to leave. You're in danger-" The next thing I knew, his lips crashed onto mine. His arms wrapped around my body, pulling tightly to his chest. "Stop it" I sobbed, unable to control my trembling. "Why are you doing this? Let me go-" "I had to get you quiet" he murmured. "Please Ava. You have to try to calm down. I understand you're scared right now, but you have to trust me. We're going to get home safely. Stay with me a few more minutes, and then we'll get the f*ck out of here. I promise." -- A little about Ava: She has made the long move from Detroit, Michigan to California to escape her gruesome past. She moves in with her older sister, and is ready to start her junior year of high school. Despite the demons she carries, she holds onto hope for a bright future. Being a alpha/beta wolf is not all its out to be. Theo being the son of an alpha and beta has strength and anger like no other. The only ones to calm him is his mama, Arlo and twin sister, Cara. He gets into fights on the daily and is suspended from school more times than anyone can count. That is until he meets his mate and goes to visit her family. Let's just say shit hits the fan. ~~~~~~~ "Theo." Cara ran down the corridor in tears. "They're hurting someone. Please help." I frowned and was dragged by Cara to a abandoned corridor. Stood at the end was a group of boys and girls with a girl on the floor. Cara whimpered making me look down at her. I sighed and walked over to the group which parted when they saw me. Sat on the floor curled up was a blonde girl, just like Cara had tears soaking her cheeks. The group had left leaving me, Cara and the girl on the floor. "T-thank y-you." She hiccuped. Her scent making me frown even more. It drove me crazy, I wanted to be closer to her, to touch her, hold her hand. "No problem." I replied, my deep voice sounding sending a visibly shiver up the girls spine. When she looked at me, her bright blue eyes met mine making me growl lightly. "Mine." I stated. "Mate." She whispered. ~~~~~~
