A King, A Captain, A Mess
Two brothers learn who each other really are while on an adventure. Who will be king? Can they stop a civil war? Will they find and accept their mates? Could I suck any worse at descriptions?... probably not. Still, I think you should give the story a chance before you disregard it. Story excerpt: "I don't want to be a king. I've never wanted to be king! You know this, Father. Please..." I beg hoping he has another solution. "I see no other option. Look out the window, Ethan. It hasn't even been an hour, and a crowd has gathered at our doors. What do you want me to do? The people love you. The soldiers respect you. The only members of the clan you need to win over are the stuffed shirts and with what your brother just pulled? You're as good as gold." "You wanted this to happen." I accuse him, and he shrugs. "Want? No. Expect? Yes. Your brother is more concerned with holding his mothers dress than leading his people... but by all means, if you have a plan to make him a worthy ruler, lay it out for me, Captain." The Artist Second Chance (COMPLETE)
I was getting ready to start my senior year of high school when my dad was offered a promotion in an ally pack. He was our alpha's younger brother. (In other words my uncle is the Alpha.) My dad did accounting and record keeping for our pack as a delta. One of our ally packs contacted him to be a beta in charge of pack records and accounting. His record keeper and his mate were wanting to retire. His mate was an OB/GYN nurse. My mom was the midwife assistant. She could become the pack midwife. This would mean we would have to move. I wasn't sure I really wanted to move. I loved the art program at my school. We get moved and the first day at the new school I meet my mate and he rejects me. He was the warrior beta's son and I was the record's beta daughter, and he rejects me. Ugh then in front of me he claims the alpha's daughter. I was devastated but I refused to show my emotions to him. The next day at I attend school I am claimed by an alpha as my second chance mate. This is when my life got interesting because I ended up using him as my muse for art. [if you expect everything to happen at once- don't. I'm sorry to disappoint you. Now onto what it is really about: Dan Howell is becoming more and more depressed. His family, his community, not even his best friend, Phil Lester, can help him. He believes he's a lost cause, and he's a mistake. He tries to hide it best he can, but some nights, it's just too much. During this, he's lost his will to smile. I see the little 8 year old boy from last night run away crying, one of Ruby's cousins. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!" "He commanded that kid when he could have just talked to him! He is a bully with no patience!" "He is an Alpha!" She purrs with pride at his rank. I don't care! "I don't want him!" A stand there chest exposed. I'm boney from lack of food and bruised from my foster father and brother. Amid all the fresh brusing three white lines stand out stretching from my shoulder to my hip. "This is what they were healing!" I yell trying not to cry. I remember the pain of the marks when they were fresh. Feeling embarrassed I put my shirt back on. "Rouges." The man whispers. "Those bruses." Ruby says from behind me. "The "Love" of my "family."" I tell her. "My turn." I say and the man turns back to me as he was facing the other adults.
