Never Let Go is a short story that I originally wrote for English class as my end of the year project. But after my teacher (unexpectedly) read it in front of the whole class, one of my friends told me how 'Amazing' she thought it was, so I decided to put it on Wattpad because, why not?
This short story is about a girl named Maddie and one sad incident that happens in her life.
I'm not gonna say anything else because I don't want to completely spoil the story.

This book was written in 2016 when I was obviously going through a ruff time, and honestly this book sucks. But I'm to lazy to edit it all and don't seem to care about it since I was sooo young. But enjoy? Angst holds the crowd, Players drenched in sweat, the dribbling ball falls to a standstill, silence takes up the room. Keegan Murray makes a shot in overtime, in mid-flight, hope enters his eyes. As the ball gracefully hits the brim and deem itself into the net, Keegan's right arm get euthanized by his team player. "How many romance books do you read?" Devin asks me. I shrug. "I like them," I say. I keep browsing, running my fingers along the spines. "So, you like romance then?" he asks me. I nod. "What's your favorite part of a love story?" "I like the very first kiss, but I like the second one even more," I say. I bite my lip and look at him. Oh. My. God. What the hell am I doing? Am I flirting? I think that I'm actually flirting. With Devin. Devin, my best friend. I have officially lost my mind. I should probably stop. But I can't seem to. "Will you grab me that one?" I ask. I point above my head, my back's pressed against the bookcase. He locks his gaze on mine and reaches over me to grab the book I asked for. "Thanks." I don't move and neither does he. Riley and Devin have been best friends forever-since Kindergarten. It's Senior year of high school, now. And it's always been simple, Riley's got his back, he's got hers. But as life goes on Riley can't help but wonder if maybe he's not just her best friend, if she likes him as possibly something more. As her feelings deepen and become something greater it becomes more evident that she's falling, really hard. No matter how hard Riley tries she can't stop falling, she can't stop from loving him. Even if it tears her to pieces or even if it destroys their friendship. Pretty soon Riley is going to have to choose between walking the safe line of friendship or taking the unpaved path of love. Forever Alone?
Okay I know I might be over exaggerating but I'm seriously forever alone. I mean I'm 16 and I've never had my first kiss! Guys don't even look in my direction! I'm not the most popular girl in school but I'm not a complete nerd! And I mean I know I'm not the prettiest girl around but I don't look like medusa! I mean with my Sandy Blonde hair and Green eyes I'm at least average! I even dress up girly ever once in a while. It's not like I have some weird name. I mean Abby Chandler. I think it has a nice ring to it! I mean what could be scaring the guys away? I'm only 5'7. It's not like I'm towering over him. And at least I have some kind of Tan. Once When You Were Mine
High school in the early 90s: it was before cell phones and social media, but the problems were the same. How do you get the guy you're interested in to notice you? What happens if you fall in love with your best friend? Why does physics class keep factoring into your love life? This novella is loosely based on my own high school experiences... but sort of an alternate version of them. You can only make one set of choices in life, so it's fun to explore what could have been - but wasn't - in fiction. Also, set in 1991-92, this is kind of a period piece now! In some ways it's a love letter to the teen books I read back in the 80s and 90s, in particular those by Ellen Conford and Paula Danzinger. I hope you enjoy it.
