The Scars I Carry
A collection I've put together of a few original poems I've written over the years. These poems are relating to personal experiences and emotions, and I debated publishing them for a very long time. I've finally decided to publish some of my work in hopes that they can help some people through difficulties, as writing them helped me. I will be adding more as I write them of course. There are various forms and styles so each piece is different from the others, although this collection follows similar themes. I will be putting trigger warnings for each and every poem that requires them, as well as which triggers are contained in which poems that way you have the best idea of what you will find. If at any point you feel triggered by my writing or by something else, please don't be afraid to reach out for help, you are never alone, I promise you. The themes/possible triggers contained within this collection are the following; self-harm, suicide attempts and general talk of suicide, emotional and psychological abuse, childhood trauma, mental health and mental illness (anxiety, depression, ptsd, anorexia- etc), death and dying-and others. Dandelions In The Wind
There are a lot of reasons why people write. For me it has always been like an addiction, a reporting on the world and therapy. People are my greatest inspiration and God created so many variants and flavours that we would always have something to write about or to say. I'm not known for being quiet; I fight for what I believe in and I stand my ground on what I believe to be true and just. But people like me can never do this alone, we need an audience to listen, a support network to carry us, a cause to fight for and somebody to come home to because we cry alone, at home behind closed doors. For my people that has always been a constant in my life and my inspiration like my husband and children, Uncle Louis and Aunt Delphine, Johan Erasmus that gave me my first encouragement and my clients that follow where I lead, forgive me when I faltered and still love me for who I am for those who trust me with their precious copyright, please know that I am grateful and for whom I pray every night. When I get on my knees and thank God for another day it is all of you that I am so incredibly thankful for, my life would be meaningless without you. Some of these poems eventually became songs and you can hear them on my albums and on numerous other artist's albums. With sincere gratitude to my publisher, editor and loved ones. Being me is exhausting and my guardian angels are on a well-deserved holiday at the moment. Red isn't always romance, sometimes it's blood, Moon isn't always for lovers, but sometimes for secret cries, Flowers aren't always for marriage, but sometimes for grave, Petals aren't always soft, sometimes they prick the soul. No plagiarism/No hatred plz. Also some things might contain mature contents like self harm. I want to say those kinds of suicidal poems are not to inspire anyone to self harm.
