"Water. Earth. Fire. Air. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when the Avatar kept the balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar mastered all four elements. Only he could stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years have passed and the Fire Nation is nearing victory in the War. Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me, my sister and my brother to look after our tribe. Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and that the cycle is broken. But I haven't lost hope. I still believe that somehow, the Avatar will return to save the world."

Avatar: the Last Airbender Fanfiction Zuko x OC Makki is the twin sister of Sokka and the older sister of Katara. She is one of the last Southern water benders, along with her sister. At the age of ten, she lost her mother in a Fire Nation raid, right at the South Pole; all she has left is her mother's necklace, which Katara wears around her neck. After that, her father left to fight in the Hundred Year War, along with all the other grown warriors, and Makki and her siblings were put under the care of their Gran Gran. She grew up practicing her bending and helping Katara with all the chores, while their brother practiced his fighting skills and tried teaching the younger boys of their village. Makki's siblings followed their destiny of helping Aang master all four elements while Makki was stuck on a path with the Fire Nation Prince Zuko and his uncle Iroh. The three of them would cross paths with Aang, Katara, and Sokka, but Makki would always have trouble reuniting with her siblings, so she would try her best to show Zuko the right path. ***CURRENTLY UNDER EDITING*** Broken, filled with loss, pain, and anger of her people's death... she could only hope she had died with them. An Air Bender from the Western Air Temple never having the chance to find balance within. She never knew how she managed to survive all these years, hiding from the Fire Nation but she still remained a nineteen-year-old girl. Fire Lord Ozai discovered her Air Nomad origins and he imprisoned her for three years. She got to meet the royal family before it was broken. When she managed to escape she ran away to the Water Tribes. She had been there ever since, protecting the defenseless people from the ruthless Fire benders as well as her bending. A new Air Bender appears, and it didn't take long when a Fire Navy ship arrived the deserted icy lands of the South. She will once again become the Fire Nation's prisoner but this time, in Prince Zuko's ship and things will never get back to normal. ~~~~~ I do not own the Avatar: The Last Airbender I only own the new character and some changes in the plot. She moved from home at 14 years old to live at the Southern Temple, and train the avatar himself. Life was great, she loved her student and enjoyed watching him grow. But after a certain threat, Aang ran away, and Nara followed him not knowing how history would play out for her and the young avatar. When she wakes up after 100 years, she's absolutely devastated by the loss of her family, and this new world of war to navigate. She meets two Water Tribe siblings, who join her and Aang's journey to master the elements and end whatever the Fire Nation started. The Hundred-Year War has left the world in disarray. The Fire Nation has started a war with no end in sight, and won't stop until it dominates every single man, woman, and child in the four nations. The only force that could end the war was the avatar, who was seen as a ray of hope to the world. Unfortunately, he disappeared, leaving many people around the world to believe that the cycle was broken and that the hope they felt began to eventually Fade. However, an incident occurred on 83 Ag that shook both the mortal and spirit worlds combined. Due to the chaos caused by the fire nation and the absence of the avatar, Two powerful spirits that were once sealed in the spirit world by, Wan, the first avatar have managed to escape the spirit world and reincarnated into human vessels. The Dragon spirit Ryo and his lover Kitsune the Fox goddess. Kaito the reincarnation of Ryo, the dragon spirit, was born in the Southern Water tribe as the oldest child of Hakoda and Kya. When he was eleven, the Fire Nation raided the Southern Water Tribe, which resulted in his mother's death and his capture, which left his family in agony after losing their mother and older brother. However, three years later, Kaito who was Fourteen unexpectedly returned to the Southern Water Tribe, which left everyone stunned for a bit before welcoming him back. When his family asked what happened to him, he would always avoid answering the questions or just ignore them altogether. He took part in the war with his father and for the past two years had developed not just his water-bending abilities, but also his combat capabilities to the fullest. Before returning home on the order of his father, and traveling to parts of the world, learning different skills.
