'Time' is the oldest presence in the universe. From the point that nothing became everything, 'time' began. 'Time' will pass, oblivious or ignorant of all that occurs around it. Until the final point where everything has once again become nothing, only for the clock to reset and 'time' will once more continue. It has been thus for eternity, yet at various points 'in time' something occurs that will alter all that 'time' will ignore.
This story begins here.
Our story starts with an Empire, one that had adapted and assimilated throughout its existence. History gave testament to this, attributing much to the skill of the founding race in their ability to create new solutions to old problems. As their Empire grew, so too did their technology, discovery and power.
The leader of this, Emperor Shinza, worked with an iron fist, always to increase his power and prestige within a nation that was as complex as it was vast. Each species under the empire's unified banner brought with them their own skills and cultures. From mechanists that crafted the ships and stations that filled the cosmos with beacons of light, to scientists who formed the bridge between the unified races. Organic's interacted with synthetic lifeforms and cybernetic creatures on a near continual basis, creating a cornucopia of ideas, cultures and ingenuity. Each was equal in their efforts that helped maintain the galactic empire. Yet, some, were more equal than others.

Through thick and thin the Law shall prevail. A new sense of purpose awaits us, children of light, in the land where it all began. The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. Spit out nothing but an empty husk, the remnants of a smile once so bright. Shall thee prevail, O', Great Kazdel, I ask of you, the impossible - take mercy on the innocent. Don't let the radiance dim and don't let the mind turn bleak. Wake, young traveler. Bid thy farewells and burn thy bridges. It's time to say goodbye, curly head. Cross post from AO3. For a shorter and more on-point description, look no further! I had something silly written up before throwing it out in exchange for that wall of text upstairs. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." Anyway, it's quite lengthy, but hopefully enjoyable? Slide a comment if you want, I'll give you a tiny kiss on the forehead. Man, do I love comments. (Lastly, to point out, English is not my native language, but I don't think it'll be much of an issue ;3)

From the beginning of time, light and dark played games with one another which led to wars between nations and in the hearts of those around. Mana, the string that connects all living and dead to one another saw this and tried to put an end to it for the two only drove the galaxies out of balance and caused chaos. The two were pulled in by the Mana and kept away, yet Mana decided it was unfair to keep both from the rest of the world. Dividing up the two Mana put some into each thing that lived, hoping that it might help take on the burden of what had become of the two. Every living thing had parts of light and dark, but some had more than others. Yet while the two were divided up Mana gave some of itself to those around, the people of the world discovered that they too could influence the flow of the world and used it for their survival. Nations started being engulfed by darkness and its hunger for more taking out light and its pure side. Mana had seen the unbalanced scale and shifted it by adding a new, reborn sibling to the two. A Monyec, one who could harness as much mana as they pleased to put balance back to the galaxy, but just like every living being it has an end to come to. Every five hundred years the Monyec was reborn to put the two in check and give hope to the nations they were not forgotten. Now a new Monyec is born, on the sandy planet of Mearog lies a young Monyec that has much to learn and the long journey ahead.
