It's not as fun as it sounds.
What if, once a year, the government freed all in captivity for a day? Including prisoners, murderers, the mentally insane, etc.
But, considering they're freeing everyone, Carnival Day is more like Carnival Week.
If you get caught by one of the Freed, you become one.
Some escape and never get caught again.
But wait, what's that?
Maybe there's hope, after all. A character just happened to come across what seems to be a rebellion sparking in western America.
I wonder what will happen...
(Seriously, though. I'm just making it up as I go.)

BOOK 1 From the moment the Declaration of Independence was signed, there were people who didn't agree with it. This included a small group of politicians who called themselves Chaos. They vowed to someday take over America and start over with a utopian society where everyone would have a common goal. They slowly infiltrated the government, filling it with corrupt leaders. They planned a mass attack on the U.S. on July 2, 2076, Americas 300th birthday. On that day, they assassinated the president and began bombing in New York. Unfortunately, Chaos only had about 200 soldiers so they came up with a technology to implant a chip in the nervous system and essentially control them. So basically, each solider could make a civilian a soldier and the civilian would be forced to fight and make soldiers of their own. The whole operation snowballed and everything went according to plan. Unlike in other stories, there is no hope and the only way to survive is though the CPO (citizen protection organization), created by Benjamin Franklin. It's a system of secret subway tunnels, used to evacuate civilians to safely. Out story begins on July 2, 2076 when the first bomb drops. Madalyn Grace and her friends are caught in this apocalypse and must find away to leave.Complete

A shapeless, ancient being bound to her soul - once a guardian, now corrupted. Speaks in whispers only she can hear. Doesn't understand humanity but is curious about Ren. Not necessarily evil, but extremely morally gray. Feeds on fear and memory. Slowly begins to regain pieces of its identity through Ren's actions.Complete

A group of female friends set out on a trip at a valley at darkest hour, unaware of a deadliest disease that was spreading from an unknown mysterious wild creature that appears as the size of human, on upon reaching the valley they meet dozen groups of people and particularly a group of three boys they met and befriends them unexpectedly, but as the next day comes some tourist who supposedly came from copter someone among them came infected turning into the monster while his eyes bleeds and sniff over for the fresh blood to quench the thirst and hunger. Amidst the chaos and destruction this group of people becomes more closer as they try to protect one another. while witnessing deads and bloodsheds as infected people turn wild, they struggle for their life while hoping for rescue.
