It's not as fun as it sounds.
What if, once a year, the government freed all in captivity for a day? Including prisoners, murderers, the mentally insane, etc.
But, considering they're freeing everyone, Carnival Day is more like Carnival Week.
If you get caught by one of the Freed, you become one.
Some escape and never get caught again.
But wait, what's that?
Maybe there's hope, after all. A character just happened to come across what seems to be a rebellion sparking in western America.
I wonder what will happen...
(Seriously, though. I'm just making it up as I go.)

BOOK 1 From the moment the Declaration of Independence was signed, there were people who didn't agree with it. This included a small group of politicians who called themselves Chaos. They vowed to someday take over America and start over with a utopian society where everyone would have a common goal. They slowly infiltrated the government, filling it with corrupt leaders. They planned a mass attack on the U.S. on July 2, 2076, Americas 300th birthday. On that day, they assassinated the president and began bombing in New York. Unfortunately, Chaos only had about 200 soldiers so they came up with a technology to implant a chip in the nervous system and essentially control them. So basically, each solider could make a civilian a soldier and the civilian would be forced to fight and make soldiers of their own. The whole operation snowballed and everything went according to plan. Unlike in other stories, there is no hope and the only way to survive is though the CPO (citizen protection organization), created by Benjamin Franklin. It's a system of secret subway tunnels, used to evacuate civilians to safely. Out story begins on July 2, 2076 when the first bomb drops. Madalyn Grace and her friends are caught in this apocalypse and must find away to leave.Concluída

And now she was a Reporter, covering events that happen during and only at Purges. Problem is, no one outside the Reporter Agency knows about her since 'that person' kept paying for her stuff to be taken down from their site. How can she win the best Reporter and be free? And why is the Vulture suddenly more bothersome than ever? Why does her Kino seem to be hiding something from her. And why does she have a feeling, this year is going to be her last Purge? Can Merriam survive the night? (Based on "The Purge" movie...not the people, just the whole idea of one day a year when all criminal activity is legal.)Concluída

Doesn't trust easily. Background: Lost her brother under mysterious circumstances years ago; she's been "the weird girl" ever since. No one believes her when she says the forest is wrong. Skills: Not magical, but freakishly good at puzzles, rituals, languages, and uncovering secrets. Flaws: Impulsive, emotionally repressed, tends to push people away to avoid being hurt. 🐚 The Entity: "The Hollow One" Ren calls it "Echo" (sarcastically at first, but it sticks). A shapeless, ancient being bound to her soul - once a guardian, now corrupted. Speaks in whispers only she can hear. Doesn't understand humanity but is curious about Ren. Not necessarily evil, but extremely morally gray. Feeds on fear and memory. Slowly begins to regain pieces of its identity through Ren's actions.Concluída

We were just kids. Not experiments. Hundreds of kids were kidnapped at a young age and taken to a place called the Compound. Here they are put through ruthless tests in order to get one thing; mutants. When that breakthrough is finally achieved on A-36971 and a group of unknown people show up the next day, she takes the chance at asking for help using her new 'powers.' But getting this help came at a great cost. Once they're out and free, they realize the head scientist isn't letting them get away that easily. And he doesn't want his lifelong work to be out in the world just yet. So he'll just have to kill his experiments.Concluída

Imagine living in a world with a separate country where everyone is discriminated against the rest of the world for having the perfect mentality of a psycho due to chemicals exposed and experimented on far back into the bloodline as life itself? Unlike other countries these kids are forced to be contestants in a simulation game each sorted into a sect, determination, intellect, confidence, judgment and empathy whereas those from everywhere else could buy their way out or refuse, How do you think this story will end up? a story i wrote inspired by multiple dystopian stories such as, maze runner, the hunger games, divergent and even squid games where within the story my friends are the cast.

The New World has been the last peaceful and resourceful country for nearly two hundred years. Or at least that's what they say. Samantha Ivory has been living a boring average life in an old town with lots of history. That is, until the news of a carnival coming to town ignites new excitement. This carnival promises a night of fun for everyone. There are games, promising rewards, and food that no one has ever seen or tasted before. But what if this carnival isn't what it seems to be? And who are these people that have come into her town? Can Sam figure it out before it's too late, or will she get stuck playing a game she never wanted to play? A boy no older than me is just standing there, he is wearing a gray shirt with a hole in the shoulder and it has a handful of stains and dirt spots on it. I immediately know he is not from Treegrass. Not only have I never seen him before in my life but everyone in our town always wears nice clean and washed clothes, therefore nobody should be looking like him. The boy has a small cut on his cheek and is thin, a lot thinner than he should be. I look away from him and around at my surroundings, there is no one else here. I regain my composure and look at him again. That's when he says something that makes my blood run cold. "Run."Concluída

Years ago there was a blackout. One day all the lights went out. The cars stopped running. Electricity no longer existed. Nothing that ran on electricity works anymore. People panicked and tried to survive for as long as they could. Some made it out of cities the others stayed. Our government fell and militias took control. The Monroe militia took over. Then one day he found electricity again. He used it for bad and soon conquered the whole world. Years later our world now runs on electricity again. The Monroe militia is still in power and they force teens to go into an academy to train as merciless killers. This is where I go. One question I always have in mind is, In a world where hope is the only thing we have, Can love exist in the middle of all this war?Concluída
