Maria Elizabeth Santiago wasn't like the others. She was best friends with the adorkable, quirky, Hayes Grier until he moved to North Carolina in 6th grade.
When Hayes transfers to Davidson High, he was instantly disliked by his fellow peers for being shy and having large nostrils. Hayes always kept in touch with his former best friend.
But Once his brother, Nash, discovers a popular app, Vine, Hayes instantly gained popularity not only on social media, but as well at his own school. His peers brought Hayes into the 'popular' group, where he began to think he was a big shot. Having 2,000,000 followers, a smoking girlfriend, and having girls chase after him here and there, he lost touch with his former childhood friend thinking he doesn't need her anymore.
