Lors d'un voyage scolaire au Caire, Markus, élève de troisième , se retrouve en Egypte antique sous la gouverne d'Hamés, jeune pharaon tyrannique et sadique de treize ans. À peine arrivés dans le palais du jeune souverain, la plupart des élèves de la classe de Markus se font abattre sous ses yeux. Seul Amadou, Azar , Paloma et lui même s'en sortent vivants. Comment de jeunes adolescents de notre air vont ils s'adapter à ce monde inconnu, et surtout à Hamés, sociopathe totalement détaché de la réalité ?
