I've always wanted to become a part of a band. Not like a rock and roll band, although thats cool and all, but a symphonic band. One of those big ones with the trumpets and clarinets and French horns. I get this indescribable feeling when I listen to them.
So the day comes, my first day of middle school, 7th grade, all that jazz. My first class on my schedule? Band.
Eventually through the school year I learn about the top band, and all the members in it. And one member in particular that no one can stop talking about, Joshua Dun. The trumpet player who practices 5 hours a night and has gigs on other sides of the country. Everyone wants to be him.
His electric blue hair and C major lips have something about them that I can't shake. I just want to spend my days staring at him.

On her first day, however, a chance encounter (or collision) changes the trajectory of her life. Demi is a transfer student, upset that her father's job has torn her away from the city, her boyfriend, and the life she knows. It hasn't been an easy adjustment to such a tiny, boring town, and she doesn't even have a car to get away. The first day of her senior year is going terrible, and to make matters worse, her clumsy feet have her stumbling down the stairs. He gets to keep playing hockey, he can afford to go to an out-of-state school, and he can remain unknown. It's his perfect game plan. Or well it was. Until the worst possible series of events happens. The team wins their first game in 13 years, shocked fans catch Jake talking to a popular pro player after a game, and an unfortunate tweet blows up. All leading to Jake's face being plastered on every Twitter feed, Instagram story, and social media outlet that you can think of. His worst nightmare comes to life in real time. Now with the help of his team, he has to figure out how to deal with his newfound fame while trying to get his bachelor's in chemical engineering and win as many damn hockey games as he possibly can before time runs out and he has to run again.
