"I decided that I am going to tell you, but don't tell anyone. Please." 

"I won't, I promise."

I took his hand and dragged him to the back of the school where nobody could see or hear us, and we sat down by a tree, facing each other. I winced, catching Brendon's unwanted attention.

"Are you sure you're okay?" 

"N-no"

He cared, even when things took a turn for the worst.
