I look down at the words "TIME MACHINE" written in big letters above the keypad. "Wouldn't it be cool to go to the year 2014?" I wonder out loud to Elijah. Of course, he is standing there freaking out as I climb into the complex-looking machinery. I ignore him and stare at everything in awe. I've never seen anything like this before. Nothing exciting ever happened in this town, and now was my chance to make something exciting happen. "Mary, get out! It's too dangerous!" Elijah disturbs me from my thoughts. I look up at him, "I bet it is just some trick." I run my fingers over the keypad, debating if I should punch in the numbers. "Mary, your parents will be worried." He tries to say more calmly. I laugh at him, "Elijah Sanders, since when are you worried about my parents?" I sit down in the seat. "I'm going to try this. It probably won't work anyway." My curiosity gets the best of me and I quickly punch the numbers 2014 into the keypad and hold my breath. And suddenly, my world goes black.
