Wyatt Alexander enjoyed the solitude of his work at the Kembhavi-Cooper Craters, but a pressure aberration on a water main out of one the largest Martian colonies breaks that solitude and forces him onto an emergency repair that puts his life and the lives of the colonists at risk.

It's dark, hot (even for Croatia) and way past everyone's bedtime. I sat there, staring right up at the star-filled night sky. I thought I was alone. Well, guess what? I wasn't. He was there. Course he was... He was Jared Freaking Leto, after all. When was he not there when anyone needed him? I had only known him for a heartbeat, and yet he'd never let ME down... What was going on inside that head of his? The mystery of those blue orbs, the beauty of a smile. Was it to last? Or had it just been a peak? He was nothing but trouble. It seems a very similar one would get white collar corporate criminals, fringe political activists, terrorist operatives, bigots and climate law violators sent to Mars. Publicly, it's all denied. Then Brie Reyes (nee Hodges), finds herself arrested after a contentious briefing with the United States Climate Initiative Czar. Researching her absent father - who long ago left to be among the first settler of the Martian colony Selah - caused a cataclysmic shift in her life and her thinking. Meeting the half-brother born to her father after he settled on Mars may either bring her salvation or condemnation. Either way, Brie Reyes is going to Mars. Its either as a political prisoner. Or political refugee.
