The colour from my face drained, and so did my hope of getting back to America. How did I expect to get back to America? Swim? Call one of father's hippocampus? I'm sure they would come and gladly help, but I'm not sure that I would last for that long without any food.
"Why? Where do you need to go back to? I'll gladly help you get back."
My eyes lit up. "So you have a way to bring me back to America?"
She stopped picking at her nails and looked up at me. "Where, now?"

With only a map given by Chiron to find this island, he did not expect to meet a set of new friends the same day he crashes on an unfamiliar island, and he definitely did not mean to go on a whole other adventure.

[2] Diverging Paths: Perseus Jackson, also known as Percy, left his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry feeling happy and confident that he had actual friends. However, that was before they seemed to forget all about him. He at least had his brother, Harry Potter, but he too had gotten no letters from their friends. Then one day a small creature wearing a pillowcase showed up in their shared bedroom and told them that they absolutely, positively could not go back to school under any circumstance. Of course, the small creature wearing a pillowcase was resolutely ignored and they went back to school to start their second year anyway. Then things started to go wonky, what with all the strange voices and massive spiders. But then things got even stranger. Chiefly duties outweigh the calling of the sea, Maui has been gone for what seems like ages, and Moana's unhappiness returns, but is now self inflicted. However, destiny has big plans for its 'Little Ocean'. After swallowing one of Auahitūroa's (God of Comets) stars by accident, Tangaroa (God of the Sea) gives his heart to the Ocean so it will be protected from Auahitūroa's wrath. Somehow (but not really a mystery) Moana comes across the heart on the shores of Motunui. It unfortunately comes with a few consequences, including a new relationship with the water, conscious tattoos which come from nowhere and Moana's new status as a Demigoddess of the Great Ocean, and half-daughter of Tangaroa.
