In the kingdom of Zortia lives a princess with the steely heart of a warrior. Princess Serilda is bored to tears of pretty dresses and the annoying gossip of court. Stifled in the palace, she finds a way to be herself and also fulfill her obligations as a princess.

On her eighteenth birthday, her life is altered when her ball is abruptly interrupted by a mysterious man claiming that she is now his property, all because of a bargain her brother struck many years ago.

Little does she know that her brother's debtor is the prince of the Elven kingdom, Ellesmere. Prince Eralys, her handsome captor, takes her back to his land, where she learns that she needn't live two lives anymore.
