Kata had become Star of Daylight, and next in line to be the head shaman of the tribes of The People. She had overcome adversity and found her niche among her mother's tribe; so much so, that she now claimed them as her own.
She had married the man of her dreams, Running Deer, who treated her as if she were a queen, but something in her past continued to plague her and stand in her way. When she begins to have visions of her brother, she wonders if her business with Vander is truly finished.
When a woman from her tribe, her best friend Night Moon, disappears without a trace, Star of Daylight sets out with Raging Bear, Night Moon's husband, Running Deer and several warriors to track her down. Their scouting skills lead them to the sea near the settlement where the white spirits used to live. In the distance, she spots a Viking ship, and she feels urgently that she must follow it.
Star of Daylight commences a journey across the great water, knowing that she must travel home in order to put the past behind her, rescue Night Moon and face Vander, once and for all.

Lucas is a wolf shifter and former army ranger, who had been looking for his fated mate for years. After nearly giving up on finding her; he is captured, tortured, and imprisoned for many months by an unknown agency. He escapes with the help of a feisty female prisoner named Sarah. He soon discovers that she is his life mate. Together they make their way back to his secluded forest home, where they should be safe with the help of his large family. Along the way, Lucas's admiration towards Sarah turns to friendship and then to love as he struggles to convince her of his true feelings. As their love for each other grows, they must stay ahead of the mysterious agency in pursuit or risk recapture. Sarah had been working on her doctorate when she was captured. The subject of strange experiments by a crazy scientist, she continuously plots her escape. Once she learns of Lucas's existence in the facility, she seeks his aid in helping them escape. Once free, Sarah agrees to return with Lucas to his home as she has no family of her own or a safe place to hide. Sarah initially rejects Lucas's attention and his claim that she is his destined one. Because of her father's abandonment, she doesn't believe any man could love her. That combined with her own closely kept secret makes her fear accepting his love. Unbeknownst to both of them, the head of the agency wants Sarah brought to him at any cost, for his own evil designs. Can Lucas keep Sarah safe, and will their love triumph in the end?

Stars entwine in the darker night as the sky cries stars of pity for those below. Stirring winds and roaring echoes- it calls forward to those those who follow the light of sun and intimidates those who hesitate to act right. "It's all burning," murmured the light grey she-cat with desperation "it's all burning!" she continued on repeating. "It is burning, Cloudfall." Meowed a white tom beside her, his tail resting on her back. "May StarClan light the paths of those cats, may they be safe in their paws." He whispered with awe and sympathy. Edit (10/26/2020): This is quite an old work, and no longer represent who I am, but I do want to prove that I have grown as a writer through these books and other experiences, so it will stay published.
