As I looked in front of me at the big doors towering high above my head, fear struck me. I gulped loudly and gathered all my courage as I pushed against the heavy doors, my hands shaking, fearing what would find me as I entered the room behind it.

During this and her parents never being around she's noticing a guy at her new school watching her constantly, at first Faye feels a little special with the hot guy staring at her, but as soon as her new friends tell her to stay away from him she's not so sure about the hot guy anymore.
