After ten years, the wars have ended. In an attempt to reunite Aldoak and Vertmere, The Exchange program is set up.  From each country, 50 boys and 50 girls from the ages of 18-25 will travel to the other, and stay there for a month. They will all stay with host families from the other country, and live exactly like them.
  
Josephine has just turned 19 when she is selected for The Exchange. As the King's niece it was inevitable, but she is reluctant to take part. She already has the perfect life, and moving to another country for a month just isn't ideal.
