Descendence

Victoria has been obsessed with the idea of vampires for as long as she can remember, but she never imagines that they could be real. She will be turning 16 soon and can't wait to get her license so she can drive the car she saved up for years to buy. Victoria isn't very popular, but the few friends she does have, have her back when it counts. She thinks high school is difficult... But that's without worrying about the possibility of her classmates being eaten.

In the beginning. There were four families of vampire. They were the true bloods. The first vampires to walk the earth. In millennia to come the family's changed and evolved. They discovered that they possessed a toxin in their saliva that, mixed with their own intent, could turn humans into vampires. These came to be known as Virals. Though the virals were not as powerful as the descendants of the purebloods, they still posses inhuman strength, remarkable speed, pale skin, and distinguishing them most distinctly from most people, they have vertical pupils, like those of a cat. In recent years three out of the four pureblood families have come together to form a council that controls and regulates the creation of virals. Purebloods, share many things in common with the virals, however unlike the virals, most purebloods posses unique powers.
