Ashley, a 16 year old girl lives with her mom and dad and her dog Cooper. Ashley lives a miserable life with her parents always fighting, not fitting in, not belonging, all she has is her dog Cooper. She has no one to go to besides her friend Kenzie and her neighbor Jake.
She spends most of her time in her tree house with Cooper, listing to music, doing her school work, and escape life through social media as well.
Ashley slowly starts falling in love with Jake and starts hanging out more and more. But then her parents end up splitting up and ends up staying there and living with her mother.
Ashley and Cooper end up running away and end up living with her best friend Kenzie. Until one day her mother finds her and tries to get rid of her dog Cooper.
They end up running away again, but instead they live with her "foster" parents aka Mrs.Smith her science teacher.
