A Shade, called Ari, encounters his self-proclaimed archenemy Mera, who says the only people who can defeat her are the ones he knows best. That would be all well and good if only she hadn't made them mysteriously vanish a month or two before. He's forced to go on a journey to find them before the ones he holds dearest also vanish.

Al and Cyrus are the teenagers that you'd see on the sidewalk and your make sure you're at least three feet away from them. They certainly don't look normal, and they're constantly picked on for it. They don't get comfort from their parents either, since they're no longer there to give it. But new rumors arise, and it makes then wonder...
