Chaney is a student/preformer of the arts, studying her days away at the famous Juliard school. She lives a calm life, living with her fiery roommate, Rachel, who has always been her exact opposite. Everything seems to start changing when Chaney get's the big news of Rachel's engagement. She's always wanted a guy for herself, one like Rachel has, but has never quite been able to put herself out there enough, until she met him. Blake literally fell into her life, and then just never left. But Blake's hiding something, and something big. And this secret, might just be the end of Chaney.
Hazel is eighteen and floundering. She's graduated from high school but has no idea what the rest of her life holds. Her parents are pressuring her to study something 'practical' at university, while all she's ever wanted to do is read and write.
Then, her grandfather dies, leaving her his bookstore and the remainder of a twelve-month Scrabble club membership in his will. For a man Hazel thought she knew so well for so long, this behaviour is puzzling, to say the least. But as she starts exploring more of her grandfather's past, she discovers that sometimes life doesn't always go exactly to plan.
