Meet Juliet Jones, JJ, as most of her friends call her. The eyecatcher of all boys at Preston High School, a small private school just outside of New York City. With her long, flowing blonde hair, perfect skin, perfect body, practically perfect everything, Juliet doesn't have much trouble getting the guys. With a snap of a finger she could have a line of boys to pick from, right in front of her. Except maybe one. Aaron Scott. With the luscious looks of this one, no girl at Preston High didn't want a piece of him. The face of an angel and the body of a god, he would always say in confidence to everyone. Obviously too much cockiness to contain. He could have any girl he wanted, except maybe one. Juliet and Aaron have known eachother since grade school. From then on, they hated eachother. It all began when Aaron stole Juliet's most prized possession -- her red stuffed monkey -- and tore it to pieces right before her eyes. Juliet returning the favor by pouring a whole tub of glue in Aaron's hair. What happens when the two it people of Preston High get left behind on a field trip 2,038 miles away from home? Hitchhiking, bus rides, a whole bunch of lust, and maybe spark of true feelings?

Hope Flynn used to love water. She never realized the power of water, or the strength of it until the accident. Now Hope knows just how dangerous water can be. Water is the reason her sister is dead, and the reason she almost died. Hope can't remember what happened the night of the tragedy, but everyone assures her she couldn't have done anything to save her sister. Juliet Price has attended Redwood High since the beginning of sophomore year, but she's never spoken to Hope, Juliet doesn't fit in with her classmates as she wasn't born rich and she didn't grow up getting everything she wanted. The only reason Juliet is at the exclusive private school is because she's living with her wealthy aunt and uncle. Juliet knows what happened to Eleanor Flynn, most of the world does. The Flynn family are very wealthy and very famous. Even though Juliet and Hope have never spoken, Juliet can tell that Hope is acting weird and she doesn't think it's entirely because Eleanor is dead. When Juliet and Hope are brought together through a class project, Juliet starts to realize that Hope won't be able to start moving on unless she finds out what happened the night her sister died, and why she can't remember it. When the two start investigating, they realize that the truth is pointing to something dark. Almost everyone attending Redwood has secrets, and they'll do what it takes to keep them private. When the truth starts to come out, Hope is left to wonder if she remembers the dreadful night and finds out she had something to do with it, will she ever forgive herself?
