Serendipity-Finding something wonderful while looking for something else.
I'd never had all that much luck but I truly thought I'd struck gold when Alex Collins walked into my life. He wasn't anything that special from the outside, yet something was different with him. At least until it all came crashing down. Fast. Now here I am 2 years later- left to deal with the remains of my broken heart- and I have a story to tell. How through the toughest of times, the sunshine can peak through. About how sometimes a bit of heartbreak is all you need to find a lot of happiness.

I would bet none of you have ever had that dream summer that all of us want.... that summer where you meet a boy on the beach and go surfing even though you don't know how to surf. That summer where you look him in the eyes while he runs his fingers through your hair. I don't get what I wish for and I ended up tripping on the carpet end, just as I was about to get to the door. So much for that. And just like the last time I fell, my face didn't get to keep its appointment with the floor. His arm was wrapped around my stomach and he pulled me hard against his chest. So hard that I managed to hit him and we ended up falling on the sofa together. Now isn't that a nice and compromising position you got yourself in? This can't get any worse. I tried getting up but I just ended up turning into him and found my face inches from his. He looked at me. He looked good and my hormones decided it was time to end a dry spell and started dancing about inside me. Wrong timing muthafvckers. Of course they didn't listen. An Unexpected Moment

Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either.
