Millie Bobby Brown has had selective mutism since she was born. Selective mutism makes Millie unable to talk to people that aren't immediate family. It's not that she physically can't talk, but she DOESNT want to. When her mother passed away when Millie is eight years old, she stops talking to anyone. When Millie meets Finn, she finally has a friend, and Finn is the only person who can get Millie to talk. But when Finn thinks that Millie betrayed him, he hates her, and Millie stops talking again.
