Brighid and her partner have been on the rocks for a while, but after a series of life-threatening events and an explosive argument, she's had enough. Desperate to get out of Markarth, Brighid takes a dragon-hunting job at the northern borders of The Reach, thinking it will be an easy task to complete on her way to Solitude - but nothing ever seems to go the way she hopes. Confronted first by Stormcloaks and then by Imperials, Brighid finds herself thrust back into the civil war that was beginning to seem so distant. When the only track to the small village of Lastspell Falls is destroyed, she is forced to mediate between the two sides to prevent trouble breaking out and putting the local villagers at risk. But without the skills to fix the track, tensions with the Stormcloak leader, and dwindling supplies, the situation begins to look dire. Once so certain of herself, Brighid is forced to confront some personal truths she's been running from, and find an inner strength that can help her overcome the most hurtful betrayal of all. Rated Mature for violence and language. Frequent updates.
