Loved and pampered like a child
A Miracle and amazing

Smiles of the hidden side,
Hands of a complaining giver
Held me and laughed,
I felt a shiver
Trembled and shuddered
Quaked and quivered
Cried and begged
For the return of overindulgence
Tree with no roots decays,
Darkness without light
We cannot count days
Living alone feels like a drought
God's forsaken man
Am I,
Left behind and stinky
They call me.
Forgotten and lost in the obscureness
The remaining friend is loneliness
Tormented and scared,
Forever will I be alone??

COMPLETED A new boy joins the class and is anything but ordinary. Rafe is frantic, reckless, and unpredictable. He takes a seat next to the orphaned Alice and both of their lives take a sharp turn. The innocent orphaned girl finds herself trapped in the psycho's dark wicked world. Will Alice's light win, or will Rafe's darkness corrupt her? 🥀 "Look here rat!" He threatened and stomped over to me. I stepped back and hit the wall. "If you think you'll try and get on my 'good side', think again!" He yelled with his face right in front of mine and slammed his fist against the wall. "Can't you just say thank you and leave it at that!" I yelled and shoved him away. Sound of a Broken Drum
Syd is living on the edge of his broken psyche when he comes across the person he had been waiting his entire life to meet. As things flourish, the rude awakening of the edict "nothing gold can stay" changes the tune of Syd's life as he finds out a truth that is completely devastating. And in the world of mental illness, this is a particularly harsh reality where Syd has to make a difficult decision on what he has to give up in his life. But even a broken drum has to keep beating. The entire story has been published from Chapter 1 to the Epilogue. It is broken into three parts, each quite distinct from the others as Syd's life is altered dramatically. This thing is a labor of love. After completing the story, I realized how much it meant to me personally. I learned things about myself I did not know until I wrote it. I feel as if from writing "Sound of a Broken Drum", my life has changed. In the way I perceive it and in the way I perceive the world around me. This story is not for everyone. There are a lot of people I know who would never want to read something like this. It's not for the apathetic, the privileged, the ones who coast and indulge in the bullshit. I know a lot of people like that. Maybe I wrote it as a means to get away from them. There are certainly people I feel who would read something like this. The mentally-pained, the loners, introverts, the lonely, those who struggle through the everyday things many people take for granted. Those who know too much. And feel too much. I know what that is like. And I know this is why I wrote it. Because we can share each other's experiences through words, no one has to ever feel like they are alone, regardless of how distant the world is. And regardless of how much trash and clutter from society there is in the way of your field of vision, always know there are those few you will find who will make the struggle well-worth it.
