"You weren't supposed to turn out like this" "You're an abomination to our kind" "How can they even stand you?" These are just a few of the phrases Molly Taylor has lived with her entire life. They don't know how but Molly is the only mermaid born without a tail. Her father (the king of their society) deals with the harsh reality of it by locking her away for the first 10 years of her life. When she is finally released she realizes that the world isn't all sugar plums and gum drops. It's cruel and it's out to get her. She will do what ever it takes to protect what little family she has. Even if she has to form an alliance with the cruel boy in the next society. Even if she has to forget about her feelings for her best friend. What will she choose? She ran into the most powerful pack of them all the Red dawn pack. They take her into their pack and discover that she's not just a wolf but a hybrid. Just like her brother she has dyslexia but can read Greek somehow and she can hold her breath underwater for long time and she doesn't speak a lot. There's a reason or that. See their mother is mortal but their father is the G-D of the sea. But all her twin brother Percy knows is that he thinks their father left them. They really don't belong in this world they have powers but all magic comes with a price I fear. For one their mother remarried to this pig he has no respect for women and hates herself and her brother but the reason why is because of his horrid smell it keeps those that want to hurt them away from them other immortals like their father. They pretty much live their lives in the water and they can do things with water like their father but he doesn't know it and the only reason they have the problems they do is because of their powers those problems go away when they're in the half blood world with other demi-G-Ds like them in that world she's a mermaid, legs on land and tail in the water, and the not talking so much she has a beautiful voice, but its part of her powers her singing is like a siren song.

Based off a prompt on Tumblr: "I want a superhero series where they have powers that 100% contradict their personalities". Molly grew up as a fisherman's daughter in a village by the ocean, so naturally, it was a surprise to her and those around her when she acquired fire powers. Everyone around her had some sort of magic, but they all were compatible with who they were. Molly's mother had died in a fire for Aglea's sake! (Note: Aglea is a goddess who's name just happens to resemble a Greek goddess. They're very different.) Jax was the son of a rich blacksmith, who shocked everyone by developing water powers, and strong ones at that. When the two meet, they go on a journey to save Molly's village from a witch who wants their magic for her own. If they can't stop her, her icy grip will smother the world. Will something other than friendship develop over this trip? Only time will tell. (I don't own the cover image if you know who it belongs to, tell me so I can credit them. Also, you have no idea how tempting it was to put Fire Boy and Water Girl as the cover. I mean, reversed genders, but still.) Some of the magic bits are heavily based off of ATLA.
