The ashes were coming down faster and faster. The heat was growing. NO matter what we tried, we couldn't get the fire under control or get inside to save my luna. I could feel the flames burning her through the mate bond. It was horrible knowing I could do nothing to get to her.

It was my fault she was in there alone. If only I had woken her up when we had pack training. I should have not left her! The women and children who had stayed behind didn't know she was inside. They probably thought she was with me because I am her mate. They had run out of the house leaving her sleeping.

As much as I wanted to let my wolf have control and go to my mate, I couldn't. We are pretty much invincible but the flames were too hot and large for me to get to her. They would kill me before I made it. Our room was on the fifth floor. So, there is no way she jump from the window because the fall would hurt her fragile human bones beyond recovery.

This was it my mate is going to die. I had so much I wanted to do with her. We were going to mate and have all of our little pups running around. We would grow old together. I could just see us sitting in rocking chairs with gray hair our grand children running around us, but that would never happen now because of this freak fire. Speaking of which how did this fire start?

"Ray" I called out and my beta came from where he was battling the fire without hesitation.
"Yes Eric?" He asked panic and fear filli ng his eyes and voice.
"How did the fire start?"
"We caught the smell of rouges at the edge of the woods. It smelt about an hour old. I think it may possibly be Drew's small group or rouges that has been hanging around here. They must have used some sort of accelerator to get the fire so big so fast." He told me in am informant type of voice.
