Three weeks after the events of the Hybrid Experiment, Nathan and Voltflare had only just begun to settle down to have a normal life when Voltflare begins to become afflicted with numerous dizzy spells and visions of an ominous "void-world." Soon after, a mysterious television newscast begins blaring from the room adjacent to Nathan's apartment, informing the two of a doctor in Sinnoh that could potentially help cure this problem.
