AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
I just graduated high school and instead of celebrating it with my friends. I choose to go on a bus for an hour's ride to my sister's to celebrate my graduation with her and her friends. What I didn't expect in our celebration though was experiencing my first one-night stand with one of her friends. Her most feared friend, Her Alpha male friend, Her rich classy friend in her friend group. However, it didn't stop from there because the one-night stand led to a whole amazing unexpectedly different summer break from what I had in mind while coming to my sister's. Afterwards, where I started thinking that that was it, where I was expressing my gratitude to Aaron Hernandez for blessing me with the summer break of my whole being that I was going to cherish forever in my life. Listen, just between me and you one day I would have liked to share it with my grandkids but that was my secret to keep. Except before I know it, even miles far away from where it happened. The little secret that was meant for my grandkids only got blown in my face and suddenly it was the world's and everyone's business just like that. Blowing away with every chance, every opportunity, and everything my life hung up on, leaving me in a whole new area of life at only nineteen. He had rules for a reason, or thats what he said. I did something wrong I got punished. I spoke out of turn, I got punished. I looked at him or ate without permission, I got punished. Haven thats what they named me funny isn't it? Ironic really. They named me Haven because my mom would say I was her 'Safe Haven'. What a pile of shit that was. She left willingly, she didn't depart because of some tragic accident. My father didn't kill her. She left because she was a coward who didn't want kids. As soon as my older brother went to college she left. I knew she hated me. I was the product of her love with another man. A constant reminder that her life didn't work out the way it was planned. He who ever he was is a phantom in its own. A deep rooted fantasy never going to come true. My brother left, my mother left, my grandma ignored, and my father broke. They let me give up hope on escaping and then decided to play hero. But I haven't forgotten everything I went through. Guilt consumes my brother but I don't care, you don't get to leave and then buy a reprieve of trying to save someone who has been dead for years. This is the type of love you wish you found in high school but probably know way too well that it only exists as fiction. BEING A TEEN SERIES: BIMBO (BOOK 4) That line, that fucked up imaginary line. I like you, you like Bose, Bose likes John, John likes Feyi, Feyi like Kunle, Kunle like Jumoke, Jumoke likes Daniel, Daniel likes me. We all know that fucked up imaginary "love" circle. The people we like never like us back. They either like someone and that someone else ends up liking you or that usual crazy line. One sided love is something nobody wishes for, everybody wants the people we love to us back and however for everybody, that's not the case. For Adewole-Adedeji Abimbola, hers was the complete opposite. She had liked Paul for a long time;since their preschool days and the latter barely acknowledged her. He hated her being around him and being around him was something Bimbo enjoyed. Until Paul asked her best friend to be his girlfriend and despite the both knowing her feelings, they both went ahead to date each other and so Bimbo lost three things. She lost her dream guy, she lost her best friend and she also lost her heart. She was too heartbroken and became cold and distant to everyone. Her character took on a new phase as she shut everyone out. She focused on her books and topped the class leaving both her best friend and Paul running after her. With her new cold and indifferent attitude, she barely noticed a particular someone who had eyes on her since forever. But she never noticed him. Meet Adeleke Jeremiah, Boston International College, social prefect. Tall, lean and he had an amazing athletic build. He played football too and the whole female population had eyes on him but Jeremiah enjoyed being low profile. What on earth that attracted him to his one year junior;he couldn't decipher it at all. He even went ahead to stalk her on IG and someone he was on her contact list yet they never spoke. When Jeremiah is assigned to her class as her Prep Captain, sparks finally fly. *** Why are you still here Mr Wellington?" I asked as I clutched my bathrobe to cover my body well. I don't want the scenario of my bathrobe falling off. "You've not answered me, who's that guy?" He asked "You mean Darlington?" "Da... What?" He raised his brows "You heard me, I work for you Mr Wellington, as your PA, you have no right to ask me about my private life, who I hang out with or talk to isn't your business! I don't poke my nose in your affairs so don't poke your nose in mine!" I shot at him in anger. An IV bag is behind me and everything is sterile here. Must be a hostipal I think to myself. I try then to think how I got here. I can even hear the gears in my brain trying to think how I got here. All I can remember is my 17th birthday party. I didnt have too much to drink I think? Then I hear a loud gasp that pulls me out of my thoughts and my friend Isabel has a shocked face and looks like shes about to drop her lunch tray that doesn't have much anyways. "Oh my god! Your awake!" She practically screams happily and runs and gives me a bear hug. Even with her petite, small body, it still hurt. I cringe but smile big and hug her back. "Why am I in a hostipal? I'm confused really! All I can remember is the party and i think I passed out and I'm here. But doesn't explain any bruises I have? What happened?!?" I ask while my voice getting higher and higher as I went along. She cocked her head and gave me a confused look as she tried proccessing what I said. She opened her mouth to anwser me but we were interrupted by a low voice. "She has a form of amnesia that made her forget a certain amount of time but there are some patients that can recover and remember whatever they forgot." He told me calmly but I cracked. "I forgot somthing? What day is it?" I ask with tears brimming my eyes And look to Isabel for an anwser. She has a perment shock face but recovers when I wait for her anwser. She answers holding my gaze. "December 15" I take a shocked breath and I try to remember my last memory. But no I can only seem to remember the party I had. I take a small gasp what I realized. The party was December 14...
