Layla was never a fan of music. After her dad passed away, so did the music he had created. Since his death, Layla has avoided music all together because of the pain it brings her to hear it. She gave up her piano lessons because she couldn't bare listening to anything that brought back memories.

But then her little sister comes back from camp with a new outlook on life and somehow convinces her to go on a road trip to see Zuri's (Layla's sister) favourite band. 

After leaving a note for their mom, letting her know where they were going, they head out on a road trip to see Last Knight, the band Zuri is obsessed with.
