Lacey doesn't trust people. Trusting people only ruins you. Trusting people kills you when they turn their back on you. Lacey doesn't smile. Smiling makes people think you're happy and okay. Smiling gets you friends that betray you when they learn your smile is fake. Lacey lies. She says she's alright. She says she's happy. But she's not. Lacey is not alright. Ever since the fifth grade her life has been hell. Her life was ruined at the age of eleven. A boy she loved ruined her entire life, turned her friends on her, and made her despised. Lacey doesn't love. Lacey doesn't trust. Loving someone hurts you. But as she's moved to a new town for a fresh start in her father's hopes of making her happy again, somehow she caught a boy's eye. As Blake tries to catch her heart it only causes him to be pushed away. Blake must find a way to make Lacey smile again and learn to love and trust him.
