Athena
"There is so much at stake that I'm afraid to lose, I'm not sure I can handle it if I fail," I say, the emotions inside of me twisting and turning, readying themselves to be used but warm hands encased mine, forcing me to hold them back. "There is a reason we all follow you. Not because you're the greatest leader, but because you know you're not. You make mistakes, you learn and you love. There is a war inside you that is beautifully controlled, but now, it's time to set it free. You are not just anybody, you are a fighter, a friend, a leader. . . tell me who you are." Suddenly, newfound confidence washed over me, my shoulders straightened, a smile spread across my lips and I answered, "I am Athena." ---------- Freed from an institute that used people like her for their own selfish gain, Athena took it upon herself to reinvent the place that once brought her so much pain and suffering. She is now the leader of this new Aeterian facility, taking in powered people like her, growing in numbers and trying to live the way they've wanted to for so many years, but as usual, nothing great lasts forever. When a new enemy threatens to destroy all supernaturals including the aeteri, Athena sets out to form werewolf alliances and find a way to stop whatever plans her enemies have in store, but it won't be easy. With secrets being brought into the light, her people who count on her, an ability that is unpredictable and the arrival of a man she thought she long since lost feelings for, Athena no longer controls what she once thought she did- herself. To gain back control, she needs to trust the wolves and make the right decision for her people. There is a war inside her that she has kept at bay for so long, in order to win she knows that war must be set free and god help those that stand in her line of fire. ********** An Aeterian Story- Second Book Book Order: 1. The Trials involve a series of dangerous challenges that test the demigods' abilities in combat, strategy, and survival. Participants must not only face mythological creatures and puzzles but also each other. The prize is said to be a powerful artifact that could grant any wish. Echidna's Beasts
The gods call her Deichlana. Meaning, "The dread of Olympus", but Laia Galanis prefers not to think about that. For years, it was easy enough to ignore the monsters lurking in alleyways-or the fact that someone tried to kill her every few months. Then Zagreus, a brutally charming assassin with ties to the Underworld, arrives with orders to drag her into a brewing war between Olympus and the Underworld. And suddenly, ignoring things becomes impossible. Because Laia is no mortal. She is the last daughter of Typhon and Echidna-primordial monsters powerful enough to threaten the gods themselves. Favored granddaughter of Gaia, the family matriarch who has her heart set on regicide or whatever it takes to remove Zeus and company from power. Now Olympus wants her dead, the Underworld wants to use her as a weapon, and ancient creatures she once believed existed only in myths are affectionately calling her "little sister". Worst of all? Laia is beginning to realize why the gods were right to fear her in the first place. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🎻🐾Updates Wed & Fri🐾🎻
