He definitely wasn't the richest, but he wasn't at the bottom of the hierarchy, either. He honestly never knew he would be the knight he became, he didn't know he would meet a wizard, he didn't know he would fight the - you'll just have to read to find out.

The Medium Between Life and Death
There were very few things in Harry Potter's life that he was certain of. There was one absolute certainty though; he'd felt it in his bones for as long as he could remember. He, Harry Potter, was dead. The living people around him might not believe, but the dead sure did. Oh well, it doesn't impact his life much. The Dursley's, a notoriously boring and conformative family, were perfectly happy with their perfect, simple lives before Harry was introduced. His mother and aunt did not get along, Harry's mother being "strange" for being a witch. Hence, Harry was treated terribly by his own blood. Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, long time friends of Harry's father, James, finally found Harry with the Dursley's. They believed that Harry belonged with them, Sirius being his Godfather and rightful guardian. This is the story of how they stole Harry away from his horrid life with the Dursley's and gave him the life that he deserved, a life with the two people who loved him the most.Complete
