I don't know yet exactly what I'm meant to do. Whether I'm meant to write novels or poems, or whether I'm supposed to draw and tell stories through pictures. Sometimes I think maybe it's both. Maybe I'm supposed to teach History to young children. Am I meant to teach and inspire in the next generation a love of learning? Am I meant to teach them the importance of learning the past so that we may know where we ought to go? Or maybe I'm supposed to teach English to an older crowd. Maybe my path leads to breaking through the tough facade of some young teen rebel and reach the aspiring poet underneath. One thing I know, I want to inspire with my words. Whether that's through my poetry or the stories my artwork tells. I want to inspire the next poets, storytellers, artists to reach for the farthest stars but to never lose sight of where they came from. I want them to understand that sometimes what other people think doesn't amount to much more than a tuft of grass consumed by fire. If I am to be a poet, I want to be the kind students learn about in an English class. Maybe my words won't reach everyone, but maybe they'll touch someone. That one quiet student in the back of the class, or the popular class clown. Maybe the ghostly hand of my poetry will stir something in them, and they will go on to inspire other people. That's all I want. I want to inspire others, so that they, in turn, may inspire the people around them.
