After a long, unexplained absence searching for his beloved companion fairy, Link finally returns to his home of Hyrule. Zelda has dearly missed her best friend. However, the weight of the crown, and never knowing truly why he disappeared, has left its toll. Zelda is not the mischievous princess she once was, nor is Link a carefree young boy anymore. Still, they have missed each other terribly, and long for the friendship they had before.
When a war threatens their land once again, making the young Queen impossibly stressed and busy, how are they to reconnect? Perhaps a certain bond of sacred origins will be of assistance...
(Author's note: I will constantly be editing and revising this work as I go~ thank you for your patience! Also, the formatting is weird in some places. I try to fix it the best I can but I have no idea why it even does that sometimes. Mostly just the paragraph indents 🤷♀️)

When Zelda is forced to marry a tyrant that would bring her country to ruin, she lashes out at her new husband. The new King plots against her so he can have the kingdom and the Triforce for himself but Zelda has many friends in Hyrule. She must leave Hyrule Castle, her home, with no one but a knight at her side. She leaves with a promise, a promise to return some day, an army at her side and retake her kingdom, liberating her subjects from the King's tyranny. This is a Zelink story but I doubt it will be as good as my first Zelink story, 'A Princess Problem' but let's give it a try. Written in Blood . {After OoT/MM fic} Hyrule is on the brink of another bloody war when he returns, the hero that had slipped away to be forgotten by the land. No longer a hero, living a life of isolation far away from the land that had made him a legend once. Resentful and broken, Link hides it best he can, trying to focus on the future and forget.
