Dan and Kaitlin have been friends since they were 5. But all their friendship gets taken away when Kaitlin's mother sends Kaitlin to live with her dad. While she is living with her dad she meets Phil Lester. By building a friendship with him, Kaitlin starts to feel less guilty about leaving Dan. But when she leaves for Manchester University she sees someone she thought she would never see again. Dan. (So yeah. This story is set in about 2006-ish.
