As humans, you have to fight irrelevance. There are seven billion humans on Earth, approximately. Every time someone dies, someone is born to replace them, to mask the pain of loss. You, as one person, do not exist to around six billion, nine hundred ninety-nine million, nine hundred ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred ninety-five people, if you are truly loved by five persons. Luck of the draw, life on Earth is. At least, that's what the human species chooses to believe. Now, knowing more alien species exist than human races, Lance feels suffocated. He has to fight even more for that little bit of relevance, to get acknowledged. Even being the blue lion of Voltron doesn't make much difference, since rarely do they actually see him . ____________________________________________________________________ A promised vacation isn't as relaxing as Lance hopes. Keith was always good at running away, but he never thought where he was running to would change his life for the better. Keith runs away from the orphanage to the local park, where he makes a new friend, Lance. Years later, Kith and Lance go to The Garrison together, an elite military training base when the two boys discover their status. Lance is an omega, and Keith is something called a pure-blood alpha. The same day, Keith is taken to see the higher-ups, and he doesn't come back. Lance was told Keith was adopted by Shiro and they moved away, but is that really the truth? Keith and Lance are as opposite as you can get. Lance is popular. He's the only male cheerleader; everyone knows him. He's also openly bi and was dating the quarterback of the school football team, Lotor. Keith is nothing like that. He's the weird new kid that listens to emo bands and wears guyliner. He's also openly gay with pride buttons on his backpack. They're the most unexpected of friends. But Keith needs help in Algebra, and Lance needs help in English. Their tutoring sessions open the door to a whole new friendship and, eventually, a romance.
