When the unknown kisses the hands of man and births a new generation with abilities, man is convinced it is sign... a sign that there is more to the planets that they previously thought. A sign that mankind is destined to conquer the unknown frontiers of space.

...Or at least that's what Tara hears from the hushed talks in the Vacancy. Working as a bartender and card dealer at a bar, Tara understands only too well the abilities of the Proficient Generation. But when she is caught illegally smuggling drugs in the Vacancy, she is compromised: Rot in the Penitentiary or attend an elite university designed for the Proficient Generation to aid space exploration.
