He had on oversized glasses, that made his face seem so tiny. But, even from back here I could see his blue eyes. He was wearing a red plaid shirt with a pair of skinny jeans, and completed the look with a pair of red Chuck Taylor's. He looked at my car in disgust, as he rolled out his bike. The first thing he said to me will always be imprinted in my mind, "Buy a pair of Doc Martens, and then we'll talk."

I fell for a boy with the kindest blue eyes, and a charming dimple. He made me feel loved, and cared for, and most importantly he made me feel safe in his presence. He came right in the middle of a tornadoe and managed to turn it into blue skies. He changed my perspective and gave me hope and strength." I looked at him, and he was smiling, and his eyes were a little glossy. He took my hand and kissed it, a small tear caught in the corner of his beautiful eyes. "I thought, hey, maybe life isn't so bad after all. Maybe I can finally allow myself to love and be loved, and to live life normally. When we went to your party, you told me to wait for you. But then your perverted cousin made me feel super uncomfortable, so I went looking for you, just to be able to feel at peace again. And that's when I saw it." My heart beats skyrocketed, because this was the moment everything changed forever. "Saw what?" Asked Axel. I took a deep breath, and continued. "What? Who said anything about liking him? No! I don't like him". I replied quickly. "Stop lying to yourself... You can't beat Cupid". She said. "I said I don't like him, now you're talking about love?" I scoffed. "Yeah...You two make such a perfect Cupid's pair". She squealed, then blushed...."just like Carlos and I, don't ya think?" "Carlos is way out of your league, no offense but you're totally different from him, you're the opposite of him!". "That's my point...law of magnetic force states that...unlike forces attracts, while like forces repel...see? I and Carlos are unlike...we're perfect for each other....you and Aiden are also unlike...he's a bad boy....you're a..i wouldn't say good girl tho buh you're his opposite, thus you're perfect for each other". She said with much confidence as she smiled. She's totally lost It.. I stared at her, my left eyebrow, twitching.... "Did you hit your head?" I asked... "No..c'mon!" She groaned. "You're saying nonsense....I can never be attracted to an obnoxious, pompous brat like him". I scoffed. "Keep lying to yourself". She sighed. "Just wait till you guys fall in love and i remind you of this day...meanwhile, i'll post something on my blog, tagging you guys 'Cupid's couple, pair, match...no Twain...yeah Twain, not much people use the word Twain like the word couple...so it'll be hashtag 'Cupid's Twain". She winked at me "I'll kill you" I told her... "You won't....you know you love me". She pouted.

We were a team. A confidence team, gaining your trust and ripping you off for every penny we could squeeze out of you. Stealing millions between pickpocketing, elaborate schemes against the rich, and knocking off banks; we made it big. We were good, really good at what we did. This time we were too greedy. We couldn't pass up a 4 million dollar art con. Each couple would have walked away with 2 million dollars and we could have settled down and finally started the family we had talked about for years. But he disappeared......in the middle of the night, abandoning me. Until he returned with a bullet hole in his arm and desperation in his eyes. Begging me to help him one last time, but could I ever forgive him? Could I ever look past his betrayal of leaving me in Tennessee to fend for myself and fight off the cops myself? ●●●●●●●●●●●●●● "What were the first words you ever spoke to me?" He asked softly, his thumbs wiping away the wetness from my cheeks. "No." I choked out. "Don't! I don't want to say it." "You said...Hi, my name is Alexis and I just moved into my grandparent's house across the street. Can I play with you? And I knew the moment I laid eyes on you...." "You were 10 years old, you didn't know shit." I croaked. "I may have been 10, but I knew a beautiful girl when I saw one. And you blew the rest of the world out of the water. I may have saved you by leaving you in Tennessee, but at least you still had your grandparents. I had no one if I didn't have you."

********************************************** I stand up, not being able to handle this, "You're telling me, we're moving to some hick town in the middle of hell, two months into my senior year of high school?" My voice getting louder, "What kind of nightmare is this? You're joking right?" I stop pacing and turn to my parents. "This is all a joke. Mom would never leave this," I motion around me, "New York, none the less." Mom nods, "We're moving to Eatonton, Georgia and that's final." ********************************************** Trade in your Coach purse for some Mossy Oak, Your BMW for a pickup truck, Your high heels for some cowgirl boots and Your high class man for a good 'ol country boy. Trust me Princess....You'll love it. ********************************************** This book is a walking cliche but I hope you will join me in this wild journey of city meeting country. ********************************************** Inspired by Luke Bryan's song "Move"
