The "Underground" is a place where the sky, sun, and moon do not exist, and therefore neither do day or night. A place where a person- if not poor- takes a test to find out the 'Division' that they shape their lives around: Fighter, Leader, Intelligent, Undercover, or Special. Kaye is an sixteen year old girl, orphaned as a child, and living in the Gang District. She's never bothered to take the Government's Division test, preferring to instead use the training she's gotten from her gang to protect the poor and homeless that make their home in the Old Housing District. It's there that she meets Nico, a ten year old Leader, who's stolen The Cure for his sickly sister. When Kaye decides to help Nico, the stolen vaccine brings unwanted attention to the both of them- as well as their families. Driven from their homes by the Almighty, the mysterious head of the Government, Kaye and Nico, along with his two older siblings, are forced to find refuge. Their quest brings up the Aboveground- a 'mythical' place only told about in stories. It's a dangerous journey to get to it- once that may very well be all for naught- but it's their last chance to get away from the government who covets them. But as they struggle to survive their journey to the Aboveground, their last hope could very well lead them to their demise.

A one shot about a romance revolving around a futuristic institute's cultural festival. As it is, even future soldiers have a normal high-school life. The story is set in the future, where children are trained from an early age, by the permission of their parents, (unless of course, they are orphans) to become Knights. They then become part of the military. Nina is such a child, who joined the V_ four years ago. She's infamous for her wild nature and blatant disregard of the rules and the Student Council. And then, by some blighted twist of fate, she finds herself a House Prefect. Enter Azerkin Schwann, suave, cool, mysterious and with a permanent train of fangirls. Unbeknownst to the rest of the world, Nina finds a close friend in the drool-worthy Schwann. Everything is going on perfectly; except for a pack of man-killer cyborg wolves, an insanely powerful rival-in-battle, whose aim in life seems to be throwing challenge after challenge at Nina, and the Senior Troublemaker of the School's latest game :- 'Set fire to a pile of straw'. Well, that's not much, after all, what can a pile of straw do? Nothing, unless there's a stack of fireworks underneath. And that's the least of her worries when Nina's fallen head over heels for Schwann. This is a work of fiction, and the characters introduced are purely fictional. Any resemblance in name or character is unintentional. Just sayin' since this is basically my first story using normal names and settings. The story is currently a one shot. I may develop it further if there's a positive response from my readers. Positive, as in comments and votes.
